We are so deeply grateful to Oliver's foster family for giving him a break from kennel life. Our friendly, affectionate boy Oliver (Ollie) desperately struggled to cope living in a kennel. He has some noise sensitivities and life at MADRA was horrible for him, despite our best efforts to help him. It was beyond heartbreaking for our kennel crew to witness his distress. Oliver is coping really well in foster but that's only a short-term solution. He really needs a human or family of his own to adopt him and give him the life he so thoroughly deserves. Here's what his foster mum had to say: "Ollie has quickly settled into home life. He’s very happy in a rural setting with other dogs but would be equally happy as an ‘only’ dog and would be a super companion dog, he loves humans and he’svery affectionate and well behaved. He has a couple of quirks but nothing that cannot be managed. He hates sirens and quiet noises e.g. spraying, brushing, peeling – he gets upset and starts whining - yet he is fine with loud noises e.g. TV, washing machine, heating boiler. He has grown so much in confidence in a short time and there is a definite pep in his step now. He’s happy indoors or outside but ideally wherever the humans are. He would need a secure garden. He’s great on the lead and loves his walks despite his leg injuries which don’t seem to bother him. He settles down in the kitchen at night and sleeps contentedly indoors in his bed. He is happy in the pen during the day if we are away and is smart enough to go in the kennel if it rains. We think Ollie is a dote and really deserves a home of his own, ideally a quiet rural, secure home with human company, he is very sweet and affectionate, he has blossomed since arriving here and it would be very upsetting for him to find himself back in kennels given his sensitivity to noise."
