Eva before & after - Foster/Forever home needed. - Who remembers when our "Tricky" girl Eva arrived in? She was just about the saddest, most pitiful, frightened little girl. She cowered in her kennel and was terrified of humans, due to a lack of socialisation in her previous life. Life was so hard for her.... everything new was terrifying. Now here we are....eight months on and Eva is proof of the power of patience when it comes to rehabilitating rescue dogs. Eva has blossomed into such a doll now! Her tail is always wagging and she lights up when she sees us now and how it makes us smile. Our kennel crew get so attached to all the dogs in our care but there's a special place in our hearts for our "trickies" like Eva who come into us without any coping skills in life...and to watch them slowly come out of their sad shells is a joy we can never quite explain....it makes all the long days, in all weathers, totally worthwhile. To know we can make such a difference in how a dog views people and the world around them, is truly one of the best parts of our job. Eva is still understandably a bit shy. She really needs another dog (or two) for her confidence but she is SO READY to find a human of her own to adopt her and help her flourish. Eva spent a brief period in foster with one of our kennel crew and she did amazingly well coping in a home environment. She found the couch in no time. She is crate trained and loves the safety of her cozy little den. It's been a tough eight months for her and for us watching her struggle to overcome her fears but she is such a little sweetheart now and we're all so very proud of her. We have brought her as far as we can in a shelter environment. Now she really needs someone experienced to step forward to foster her or even better, adopt her, and show her what being part of a family is all about..... An adult only home and a secure garden in a quiet area are essential for Eva. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill in an adoption questionnaire and a member of the rehoming team will be in contact. Once we've had a chat an appointment can be made to meet the dog.
