Are you taking part in a 10k race or marathon this year?  Maybe you’ve signed up for a sponsored cycle? Whatever your sport we invite you to partner with us and walk, jog, run, cycle or even swim for MADRA! Signing up for an event is a great way to motivate yourself to get out and get active, and if you choose to join up with MADRA you know that you’ll also be helping raise vital funds for dogs in need.

MADRA successfully rescues and rehomes hundreds of dogs every year; 734 dogs came into our care last year alone. With running costs of over €200,000 per annum we rely heavily on charitable donations and the fundraising efforts of people like you to allow us to carry out this fantastic work and bring hope to hundreds of abandoned and unwanted dogs by placing them in loving homes.

If you wish to partner with us and ‘Compete for MADRA’ we will provide you with a fundraising pack which includes information about the charity, sponsorship cards and a few MADRA goodies! You can also follow the link below to set up an iDonate account which you can use to raise funds online by adding MADRA as your chosen charity. If you raise over €50 we will even provide you with a MADRA t-shirt to wear on the day of your event.

Last August a group of MADRA supporters ran the 'Streets of Galway' 8k raising €2,000 for MADRA's dogs in need (pictured above). This year we hope to double that and raise €4,000 by getting even more people involved, registration is now open for the 2016 event so if you're interested in taking part why not sign up today and help us raise vital funds to support the rescue and re-homing of unwanted and abandoned dogs in need of our care.

Mission Statement

MADRA is a Connemara based dog rescue & re-homing facility whose ultimate and overall aim is to ensure that all dogs have permanent, loving homes. MADRA works to educate members of the general public to have a responsible attitude towards dogs and their welfare and to help create a world where no healthy, good-natured dogs are killed merely because they are considered to be a surplus number.
