My name is Jess and I have some rather sad news. As a lurcher and a black one at that, I knew my odds of getting snapped up quickly were slim because believe it or not lovely people, not everyone realises how AWESOME us houndies are. Well I couldn't believe my luck when a sweet family showed up and said they would just love to take me home. It seemed too good to be true. And sadly it was... They absolutely adored my easygoing, howdydoo nature to everyone...and I enjoyed the company of the smaller humans in the family so it seemed like a perfect match. They bought lots of new things in anticipation of me moving in. There was one condition though.....I had to be good with cats. You see fair is fair, the cats were there first and it is their home. An introduction with the kennel supervisor, Monkey the cat, showed that me and cats just can't live together. It is a bitter disappointment but I can't ignore my urge to chase them. So no cats! But older children, teens...anyone at all and I am sure to like them if they are nice to me. I am only around two years old but I am fairly settled in myself. I do love a good sprint around our big pen here so I would like a garden of my own if posssible. If not, we will work around that too. Once I get my walks, that's it! I will just chill out. I like other dogs so I am open to the possibility of having new brothers and sisters! Once I get some love and a comfy bed, I am happy. However, just so you know....if it's just me and you; that's cool too...we will take on the world together! Hounds AND dogs with darker colouring tend to get overlooked by people looking for a family pet and Jess has both those disadvantages......We really hope people will look beyond these issues and see the beautiful girl inside.
