Volunteer
People are always welcome to come to our shelter, to walk, pet and/or play with our dogs and pups. However we are aware that we are quite far from Galway city. Your own transport is a must.
Opening hours at the kennels are 11am - 4pm
7 days a week by appointment only.
We always seek volunteers:
- To foster puppies (short-term) - Puppies need the socializing environment of homes rather than kennels – we move pups on quite quickly but would love to have temporary homes for them.
- People with marketing and fundraising skills are greatly needed. We are so busy doing groundwork with the dogs we don’t have time to promote and develop MADRA; our humane education programme, or our basic work. Volunteers with skills in this area are greatly appreciated.

Mission Statement
MADRA is a volunteer dog rescue and adoption group run by qualified dog trainers.
We have a variety of dogs and puppies of all breeds, shapes and sizes ready for you to adopt.
We are committed to the improvement of the welfare of dogs in Ireland through training and education in our local community, in Connemara and Galway.
