Register for the MADRA Dogs on the Bog Walk!

Late Registrations welcome on the day at 12.30!

The second annual MADRA Dogs on the Bog Walk will take place on Sunday, October 2nd on the grounds of the Glenlosh Country Cottages near Maam in Co. Galway.

The charity walk commences at 1pm and will provide a fun day out for dog owners, their family and most importantly their pet pooches.

There will be three walk options; the Chihuahua, the lazy Labrador and the Border Collie. The Chihuahua walk is for the oldies and tinies and is suitable for small children. The distance to the first bridge is a half mile so the total distance for the walk is one mile. You will still have a fabulous view of the river and most of the valley and can stop at the bridge to watch the wildlife.

Dog on the Bog Walk 2010The Lazy Labrador is a mid-range distance and will suit those of you who are not terribly fit but like to think you are! The distance to the second bridge is 1.8 miles so the total distance will be 3.6 miles. From here you will get a great view of the valley and a real feel for the tranquillity of the place.

The final walk option, the Border Collie, is for those of you who thrive on being active and go walking regularly. The distance to the third bridge is 2.4 miles so the total distance for the walk is 4.8 miles and you will be immersed in the nature of Glenlosh valley and the surrounding hills.

If you don’t have a dog of your own and would like a four-legged companion for the day please let us know in advance and we will try to arrange to have a MADRA dog accompany you on your walk. Please note that our MADRA dogs were very popular last year so we cannot guarantee a companion for everyone, but we will do our best.

To register please complete this registration form and pay your registration fee online here before the 29th of September, 2011. Alternatively you can pay by cheque made payable to MADRA and posted to MADRA, Connemara Kennels, Camus, Co. Galway before the 29th of September.

Optional sponsorship forms are available online should any of your family, friends or work colleagues wish to sponsor you to raise extra funds for MADRA.

Each registration will receive a complimentary bandana or MADRA t-shirt; additional merchandise will also be on sale on the day. Free tea, coffee and snacks will be available at the MADRA marquee on completion of your trek. Fresh water and treats will also be available for the four legged participants.
